Just the beginning
Michael SeifertMichael Seifert is a multi-platinum award winning composer, producer, arranger, and audio engineer based in Cleveland, Ohio. A self-taught multi-instrumentalist (drums, bass, guitar, keyboards, vocals, and household appliances) he has a keen ability for achieving tonal balance where it’s best achieved: at its source. Literally raised in a recording studio back when tape and large format analog consoles were still king, Michael is equally comfortable working in both analog and digital formats and often pursues a hybrid approach when recording and mixing projects.

Extremely versatile, Michael’s credits include work in a wide range of styles. He has had the privilege of working for and with bands and artists including Gentlemen Hall (Island/Def Jam), Nicholas Megalis (Vine), Tori Amos (Epic), Fountains of Wayne (Virgin), Regina Spektor (Warner Bros.), Lifehouse (Geffen), Colbie Caillat (Universal), Gerald Levert (Atlantic), Bone Thugs-n-Harmony (Sony/Epic/Ruthless), Neil Zaza, Too Short, 8 Ball, Pimp C (UGK), Chuck Mosley (Faith No More), Guided by Voices (TVT), Cobra Verde (Scat), J. Mascis (Dinosaur Jr.), Ohio Sky, Kate Voegele (Interscope), Robert Lockwood Jr., Mr. Gnome (El Marko), Sweet Apple (Tee Pee), Ernie Krivda (Capri), Death of Samantha (St. Valentine), and countless others.

In addition to his work with bands and artists, Michael has scored independent films and major motion pictures including Romeo is Bleeding (JZ Productions), Running America (Authentic Films) and Francis Ford Coppola’s The Outsiders: The Complete Novel (Warner Brothers/American Zoetrope). He has also provided original score for special features and documentaries including work on The Godfather (The Coppola Restoration), Bram Stoker’s Dracula (Special Edition), and Hearts of Darkness. Working in the realm of television and advertising, Michael has composed, recorded, produced, and performed music for Fox, CBS, MTV, American Greetings, Sports Illustrated, Cleveland International Film Festival, SXSW, Lincoln Electric, Target, Samsung, Microsoft, University Hospitals, St. Vincent Charity Medical Center, and Fazoli’s Italian Restaurant among others.
